lodging

April 18 - Cartagena - Old Town Recommended
April 19-22 - Barú - Hotel Las Islas. (3 night minimum)

The afternoon arrival times of flights to Rafale Núñez International Airport (CTG) in Cartagena and in an effort to better consolidate transfers to the Las Islas property in Barú, we kindly request that all of our guests arrive in Cartagena on Thursday, April 18 and stay one evening at a property in Cartagena of their choice in the walled Centro Histórico or Getsemani neighborhood.

The next day’s early departure accounts for the rougher seas that intensify midday forward and most flights arrive rather late for the safest departure to Barú.

We recommend the following properties we have experienced in the city. Please contact David Rappel at ProTravel via email@ david.rappel@protravelinc.com for any assistance with your bookings in Cartagena.

Wedding Property

Hotel Las Islas

Jungle floozy and tropical treetops. Las Islas is an eco-friendly jungle estate just speedboat ride away from historic Cartagena, with thatched-roof bungalows raised into the canopy on stilts, and a white-sand beach lapped by emerald sea.

Caribbean and Peruvian flavors are cooked up in the overwater restaurant and barbecue-focused beach bar, and there’s an indulgent spa with a saltwater pool.

Despite its large resort status, this place maintains a small-scale, local charm with hand-crafted amenities like rope floors and bamboo bathrooms. Nestled next to Parque Nacional Natural Corales del Rosario y de San Bernard, it's committed to eco-preservation. They grow their own organic produce, support coral reef conservation, and offer WiFi, breakfast, kayaks, and bikes. Bungalows come with TV, DVD player, Nespresso machine, minibar, air-conditioning, video intercom, and bottled water. Some rooms are accessible, and there's an elevator where needed.

Location: Ciénaga de Cholón, Barú, Provincia de Cartagena, Bolívar, Colombia

Your bungalow awaits. We will depart for Hotel Las Islas on Friday morning from designated pickup locations to be shared soon which will be located at or very near the recommended hotel properties.

With your RSVP, you will arrange your room and payment with David Rappel of ProTravel at david.rappel@protravelinc.com for the three nights at Las Islas on Barú.
