What currencies are accepted in Colombia?

  • Both the Colombian Pesos (COP) and United States Dollars (USD) are accepted. 

  • Do I have to take a COVID test to get into Colombia? 

    • Currently, a COVID test is not required when arriving in Colombia.

  • Are there rideshare services, Uber, in Cartagena? 

    • Yes, there are taxis and Uber services in Cartagena. Further details on our preferred transport partner will be shared closer to the Wedding Weekend. 

  • Will transportation be provided in Colombia? 

    • Transportation will be provided from Centrico Histórico to Las Islas Hotel on the morning of Friday, April 18th and will also be provided from Las Islas back to Cartagena or the airport (CTG) on Monday, April 22nd. 

  • I don’t arrive till the 19th, how do I get to Las Islas? 

    • Hotel Las Islas is accessible by boat, ground and helicopter transfer. Should you arrive on the 19th, please reach out to us to arrange a private transfer prior to the Wedding Weekend. Please note the helicopter comes with a significantly higher upcharge. 

  • Is there WiFi at Las Islas?

    • Yes, located both at sea level and within the trees, their exclusive bungalows include a furnished deck, air conditioning, complimentary Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV.

  • Who is making dinner on 42024?

    • A culinary artist, Chef Ariel Zebede visits us from his home of Panama with impressive tenure from Dominique Ansel’s Bakery, Thomas Keller’s Per Se in New York and Ink in Los Angeles. Chef Zebede creates a gastronomic experience like none other at his AtoZ Chef’s table located inside Casa Perez Aleman in Casco Viejo Panama City. Zebede focuses on Panamanian cuisine with an experimental twist to use local ingredients in a masterclass of flavor.  He joins us as a very honored guest with his wife Nia and Sous Chef Christian Toledo. 

  • I have dietary restrictions, who do I tell? 

    • Please share all your dietary restrictions, allergies and preferences on the RSVP Form located on the website. We thank you for sharing these quickly as Chef Ariel Zebede will accommodate all guests of Nicole & Andrew’s Wedding Dinner in the Menu curation. The culinary talent of Las Islas will also be made aware of your gastronomic needs to elevate your dining experiences on property. 

  • Is there a dress code? What types of outfits should I bring? How many outfits should I bring?

    • Take a look at the Dresscode section to outline the major events of the Wedding Weekend. Please remember to bring bathing suits, sandals, sunscreen, sunglasses and hats. The sun shines strong and bright. We want you to feel your best and enjoy the escape, but a little glam never hurts. 

  • Does it get cold at night?

    •  April, much like March, is a hot spring month in Barú, Colombia, with an average temperature fluctuating between  80.2 - 87.8 F (26.9 - 31 C). The heat index is calculated to be a blistering 104 F (40 C). The average humidity is 76% during this time of year and there is moderate rainfall. 

  • How much does las islas cost?

    • The cost of the your stay at Las Islas will range from $1200 - $1800 for the sea level and treetop one-bedroom bungalows that accommodate up to 2 people. The cost for the two-bedroom bungalow and catamaran ranges from $2500 to 2800, which accommodates up to 4 people. Your transportation to and from Las Islas will be arranged and complimentary. Pricing may fluctate slightly due to currency exchange rates.

  • Hotel Las Islas offers various transportation options to reach the Island of Barú, where the hotel is situated.

    • Shared Boat:

      • Departure: 2:00 p.m. from La Bodeguita Dock. Arrive 30 minutes earlier.

      • Capacity: Up to 10 people.

      • Cost: $70 USD per person, one way.

    • Private Boat:

      • Pricing: Depends on passenger count, typically around $1,542 USD for a 20-person boat, one way.

      • Booking: Must be reserved and paid for at least one month in advance.

      • Departure: Choice between 8:00 a.m. and 2:00 p.m.

      • Boat Travel Time:

      • Hotel is 45 minutes away from Cartagena by boat.

    • Private Vehicles:

      • Guests can arrange private cars from any point in Cartagena to the hotel.

      • Travel Time: Approximately 1 hour 30 minutes (55 km).

    • Helicopter:

      • Departure: Rafael Nuñez International Airport.

      • Travel Time: About 15 minutes.

      • Capacity: 2 to 4 people.

      • Cost: $850.00 USD
